ATPS Cameroon Chapter hosts a meeting on Responsible use of the Internet

The African Youth Forum for Science and Technology, Cameroon chapter organized a one day workshop on “Responsible use of the internet”. The workshop was sponsored by the African Technology Policy Studies Network, Cameroon, under the leadership of Dr Sylvester Ndeso Atanga. The goals of the workshop were to train Cameroonian youth to be responsible in their use of the internet and to reduce internet scams which are very common among the youth. The workshop had over 30 youth from Cameroon in attendance and they were addressed by the President of the African Youth Forum for Science and Technology (AYFST), Cameroon chapter Mr. Fon Ekwain Ernest. Mr Ekwain represented the ATPS Cameroon chapter co-ordinator at the meeting.
In His welcome address, Mr Ekwain gave a brief introduction of ATPS and AYFST and urged participants to make use of the internet service provided during the workshop and learn as much as they could from the different resource persons.
During the workshop, presentations on the Impact of Internet on the Cameroonian Youth and Online Article, Scholarship and Job Search: Finding Relevant Information on the Internet were made and it was clearly outlined that in as much as the Internet is one of the largest source of information, care should be taken when using it to avoid falling in the traps of internet fraudsters.
