The ATPS is a trans-disciplinary network of researchers, policymakers, private sector actors and the civil society that promote the generation, dissemination, use and mastery of STI for African development, environmental sustainability and global inclusion.
The ATPS Phase VIII Strategic Plan for 2017-2022 has identified four strategic priority areas of focus during the period. These are: agriculture, food and nutrition; energy; climate change and environment; and health.
The ATPS network functions through National Chapters in 30 countries (27 African and 3 Diaspora chapters). The National Chapters operate under National Coordinators who provide intellectual and administrative leadership at country level.
ATPS Africa-wide media workshop on effective reporting of STI
The African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) in collaboration with Science Africa Ltd has organized a media workshop on Effective Reporting Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) issues and their role in socio-economic development.The workshop will be held on 27th-28th July 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The workshop is geared towards strengthening capacities of African science journalists to report more effectively on the centrality of STI in Africa’s growth and development. The workshop will also explore ways to strengthen science-based media peer networks/association to enable them play bigger roles in improving the quality and quantity of science reporting on the continent.
