SCOPE

The  African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) and its Partners, Icipe and Kumasi Hive (The Hub) invites eligible applicants to submit their Expressions of Interest (EoI) for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Agriculture and Food Systems (AFS) Innovation Research Network in Africa project. The Grant will support research and innovation projects for up to 18 months’ duration in the development, deployment and scaling of AI for AFS in Africa.

Who can Apply?

Eligible research teams with demonstrated experience that are multi-disciplinary, gender-sensitive, inclusive, and equitable in the development, deployment and scaling of responsible AI for agriculture and food systems. Please note there must be a lead organization who will take on the grant as individuals cannot receive funding. Funds will be disbursed through the lead organization.

Eligible Countries

The Lead applicants must come from any of the sub-Saharan African (SSA) countries.

 Grant Amount and Duration

Each project will be required to have a budget ranging between US$40,000 and US$60,000 depending on the scope and scale of the proposed project which must be well justified.

Portée

Le Réseau Africain d’Etude sur les politiques Technologiques  et ses partenaires, Icipe and Kumasi Hive (The Hub) invitent les candidats éligibles à soumettre leurs manifestations d’intérêt au projet d’Intelligence Artificielle(IA)pour l’agriculture et les systèmes alimentaires des réseaux de recherche et d’innovation en Afrique. La subvention soutiendra des projets de recherche et d’innovation d’une durée maximale de 18 mois dans le développement, le déploiement et la mise à l’échelle de l’IA pour le système agricole alimentaire (S2A) en Afrique.

 Qui peut présenter une demande?

Équipes de recherche admissibles ayant démontré une expérience multidisciplinaire, sensible au genre, inclusive et équitable dans le développement, le déploiement et la mise à l’échelle d’une IA responsable pour l’agriculture et les systèmes alimentaires. Veuillez noter qu’il doit y avoir un organisme responsable qui acceptera la subvention, car les particuliers ne peuvent pas recevoir de financement. Les fonds seront versés par l’intermédiaire de l’organisation chef de file.

Pays éligibles

Les principaux candidats doivent provenir des pays d’Afrique subsaharienne (ASS).

Montant et durée de la subvention

Chaque projet devra disposer d’un budget compris entre 40 000 et 60 000 dollars selon la portée et l’ampleur du projet proposé, ce qui doit être bien justifié.

Âmbito

A Rede Africana de Estudos de Políticas Tecnológicas (ATPS – African Technology Policy Studies Network) e seus Parceiros, ICIPE e Kumasi Hive (O Centro) convidam os candidatos elegíveis a apresentarem as suas Manifestações de Interesse (EoI) para o Projecto da Rede de Pesquisa em Inovação de Inteligência Artificial (IA) para Agricultura e Sistemas Alimentares (AFS) em África. A doação apoiará projectos de pesquisa e inovação por até 18 meses de duração no desenvolvimento, implantação e dimensionamento de Inteligência Artificial (IA) para Agricultura e Sistemas Alimentares (AFS) em África.

 

Quem pode-se candidatar?

Equipas de pesquisa elegíveis com experiência demonstrada que sejam multidisciplinares, sensíveis ao género, inclusivas e equitativas no desenvolvimento, implantação e dimensionamento de Inteligência Artificial (IA) responsável para sistemas agrícolas e alimentares. Observe-se que é obrigatório que haja uma organização líder que assumirá a doação, pois indivíduos não são elegíveis a receber financiamento. Os fundos serão desembolsados através da organização líder.

Países Elegíveis

Os candidatos principais devem ser de qualquer um dos países da África Subsaariana (SSA)

 

Valor e duração da doação

Dependendo do escopo e escala, cada projecto proposto deverá ter um orçamento que varie entre US$ 40.000 e US$ 60.000, com justificação plausível.
