Dr. Ozor’s significant role at the conference includes chairing a vital session focused on “Examining the Future of Democracy, Governance, and Peacebuilding in Africa.” This session promises to provide invaluable insights and perspectives on these critical topics, contributing to the ongoing discourse on peace and stability in the African context.
The Southern Voices Network for Peacebuilding (SVNP) is a formidable coalition of 22-member organizations, with its headquarters located at the renowned Wilson Center in the United States of America (USA). ATPS proudly stands among these esteemed member organizations. The SVNP’s overarching mission revolves around harnessing African knowledge to shape U.S. and international peacebuilding policies concerning Africa.
Furthermore, SVNP is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of African peacebuilders through its scholarship program. It seeks to create a robust pan-African network of African peacebuilding organizations, practitioners, and experts. This collaborative network aims to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned in the field of peacebuilding across the African continent.
Dr. Ozor’s active participation in this conference underscores ATPS’s commitment to advancing peacebuilding efforts in Africa and fostering meaningful collaboration with like-minded organizations and individuals. In his presentation, Dr Ozor addressed the main triggers of insecurity and conflicts in Africa that can disrupt peace including food and nutrition insecurity, climate change induced impacts, and poverty and unemployment. He underscores the need to apply science, technology, and innovation on the one hand and good governance on the other hand in resolving most of these societal challenges plaguing Africa and indeed the whole world today. Stay tuned for updates from this vital event, as we continue our unwavering dedication to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development across the African continent.
