The ATPS is a trans-disciplinary network of researchers, policymakers, private sector actors and the civil society that promote the generation, dissemination, use and mastery of STI for African development, environmental sustainability and global inclusion.
The ATPS Phase VIII Strategic Plan for 2017-2022 has identified four strategic priority areas of focus during the period. These are: agriculture, food and nutrition; energy; climate change and environment; and health.
The ATPS network functions through National Chapters in 30 countries (27 African and 3 Diaspora chapters). The National Chapters operate under National Coordinators who provide intellectual and administrative leadership at country level.
The ATPS Nigeria Chapter has achieved a significant milestone as part of the Strengthening the National Research and Innovation Funding Agencies in West Africa (SRIFA) project. They are the first chapter to successfully complete their Key Informant Interviews and Focus Group Discussions.
This achievement was made possible through a hybrid event, where some participants, including Dr. Nicholas Ozor, the ATPS Executive Director, joined virtually. The ATPS takes immense pride in the Nigeria Chapter’s exceptional accomplishment.
We strongly encourage the other chapters to take inspiration from this success and strive to accomplish the same. It’s a testament to what can be achieved with dedication and collaboration, and we believe that every chapter has the potential to excel in its efforts.
Stay tuned for more updates on the SRIFA project.
