Delegates included selected University Deans, Institutions of Science, Technology and Innovation, the staff of the National Councils for Science and Technology in East African countries.<\/p><p>The training ran from 31st October to 1st November 2011 and was coordinated by Dr. Peggy Oti-Boateng, the senior programme Specialist, Science and Technology at UNESCO, Nairobi, with a <strong>project grant of USD 10,000 funded by UNESCO.<\/strong><\/p><p>The training was designed for training of trainers in the region.<\/p><p>The main objective of the workshop was to create a critical mass of experts in STI policy in Eastern Africa to enhance the application and development of STI for sustainable development.
