Email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:executivedirector@atpsnet.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">executivedirector@atpsnet.org\u00a0<\/a><br \/><strong>Program Coordinator:<\/strong>\u00a0Dr. Nicholas Ozor<br \/><strong>Project Value<\/strong>: US$ 25,000<\/p><p>The African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS) with over two decades of experience in STI policymaking and development, is facilitating the process of developing a policy brief to mainstream gender in the National STI Policy of Kenya. This it is doing in partnership with stakeholders including the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI), Kenya, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation \u00a0(UNESCO) Office, Nairobi, and other relevant ministries and agencies in Kenya.<\/p><p>The overall objective of the proposal is to produce and disseminate a policy brief for mainstreaming gender in the national STI policy of Kenya.\u00a0<\/p><h4>The specific objectives will include:<\/h4><ol><li>Facilitate the development of a policy brief with co-ownership by all relevant stakeholders including UNESCO<\/li><li>Undertake the design, layout and publication of the final policy brief<\/li><li>Disseminate the published policy brief across relevant government ministries, agencies and parastatals in Kenya.<\/li><\/ol><h4>Project outcomes<\/h4><p>The main output from this endeavour is the publication of a widely acceptable policy brief capable of influencing the mainstreaming of gender in the national STI policy of Kenya. Likewise, the expected outcome will be the actual mainstreaming of gender in the national STI policy of Kenya as a result of the policy brief advocacy tool and the several consultations and roundtables that have happened during the process of developing the policy brief.
