Despite these potential positive aspects and the growth experienced so far, currently the African agriculture is still to be modernized and land and labor productivity are still very low. The agenda for the agricultural sector was set under CAADP (Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme) framework, but the success of CAADP could be jeopardized by inadequate national strategies and\/or by their ineffective implementation. Institutions and governance structures at national and regional levels are key elements for ensuring the achievement of the strategic objective of promoting the growth of African agriculture.<\/p><p><strong>Key Objectives and Activities<\/strong><\/p><p>The overall objective of the study is to conduct an institutional and policy assessment of Kenya\u2019s capacity to anchor agricultural development and transformation by identifying key policy implementation and institutional barriers and provide recommendations for a systematic transformation in the agricultural sector. Specifically, the study aims to:<\/p><ol><li>Review and analyze policy and institutional landscape of the agricultural sector in Kenya<\/li><li>Align the outcomes from the policy and institutional analyses along 5 major functional components including: relevant national and sector policies and strategies; optimized enabling environment; sustainable implementation; coordinated investment and action and accountability for results.<\/li><\/ol><p>Provide actionable recommendations for the transformation of the agricultural sector in Kenya through policy and institutional adjustments for a strong agricultural sector<\/p><p><strong>Our Approach<\/strong><\/p><p>This study would entail conducting detailed desk studies, key informant interviews as well as Focus Group Discussions targeting various actors in the Agriculture sector in Kenya.
