About the meeting
KIPPRA organised the meeting in collaboration with the African Centre for Economic Transformation (ACET) and the State Department for Economic Planning. It brought together representatives from government, the private sector and various industries to strengthen inter-agency coordination and translate evidence-based research into actionable policy reforms.
The session was chaired by KIPPRA’s Acting Director of Economic Management, Dr. Eliud Moyi, and co-chaired by the Director of the State Department for Economic Planning, Mr. Simon Kimote. Discussions built on the Kenya Country Economic Transformation Outlook (CETO), which identifies the digital economy and MSME-driven manufacturing as key pathways to accelerating Kenya’s economic transformation.

Why it matters
The ATPS’s invitation to the NWG-CET reflects the standing the Network has built as a credible, trusted voice in Africa’s science, technology and innovation policy space. The working group is a high-level platform where government, the private sector, and leading research institutions shape Kenya’s economic transformation agenda, and being called to the table confirms that national policymakers and partners recognise the ATPS’s evidence-based expertise.
