Network Operations Framework

The ATPS network functions through National Chapters in 30 countries (27 African and 3 Diaspora chapters). The National Chapters operate under National Coordinators who provide intellectual and administrative leadership at the country level. Each National Chapter maintains a tailored strategic plan mapping localized priority paths of research, capacity optimization, and science communication in their various regions.

The National Chapters receive core funding from the Secretariat through donor allocation frameworks to implement key institutional directives:

• Institutional Integration: Pursuing formal integration into National Councils for Science & Technology or relevant State Agencies to operate as legal entities in home countries.
• Capacity Building: Coordinating and implementing national STI capacity-building initiatives in close alignment with Secretariat Management.
• Policy Harmonization: Interlinking Network research outcomes directly with localized policy formulation processes.
• Ecosystem Dissemination: Advocating for and disseminating network output parameters at the domestic level to drive sustainable socioeconomic development.
• Resource Mobilization: Securing co-funding structures from local corporate partners, ministries, and country-level donor networks.
